The external differences between the 747-300 and the revised 747-400 consisted of wing tips extensions, winglets and leading-edge root extensions. The objective of all these was to reduce drag and thus make the aircraft more efficient.

The conversion pack consists of cast resin parts for all these items.

It is for use with the 747-300 kit for passenger aircraft or the 747-100/200 for a 747 freighter.

The wing tips, together with the leading edge of the wings at the root are removed, and these resin parts attached as shown in this photograph of a model of a South African Airways aircraft.

The model was built by Simon Lind, who made his own decals and kindly supplied the photograph - thanks Simon!
